A Historic Tournament

Did you know the RBC Canadian Open boasts a rich history dating back to 1904? That's right, this prestigious tournament is the third-oldest continuously running event on the PGA Tour, surpassed only by The Open Championship and the U.S. Open. Unfortunately, the tournament was forced to take hiatuses during World War I, World War II, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Legendary Champions

Over the years, the RBC Canadian Open has seen its fair share of golfing legends lift the trophy. Golf enthusiasts will remember Tiger Wood's dominant win in 2000 [watch here], while Rory McIlroy etched his name in history by winning back-to-back championships in 2019 and 2022 (with the tournament cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID). McIlroy even set the record for the lowest score in tournament history at 258!

A Historic Canadian Victory

In 2023, Canadian hearts swelled with pride as @Nick Taylor became the first Canadian golfer in 69 years to win the RBC Canadian Open. He achieved this remarkable feat in a dramatic four-hole playoff, defeating Tommy Fleetwood and ending a historic drought .

This year, all eyes will be on Nick Taylor as he returns to defend his championship title. Will he be able to recreate his magic and etch his name in Canadian golf history once more?
